Bukit Batok Hillside Park- Torii gates and more...

Little known to the Bukit Batok-nians, there exists an abandoned park that was tucked away and well hidden by wilderness until adventurous hikers found this park and made it popular. So TheBoringIsland decided to check it out. Try not to go after a rainy day but of course, if you are bored to the max and wish for the company of squadrons of mosquitoes, battalions of ants, slippery slopes and fallen trees then go ahead, But please take care and ensure your own safety while you visit the Torii gates in Bukit Batok.

Anyway, the entrance of the park could be found opposite Blk 315 Bukit Batok St 32, you may lookout for a clearing near the signboard below.

Shortly after, you will reach a flight of artificial stone steps, continue heading up and you will find the abandoned well.

I am not sure if it is just me this place seems like a good location to film horror or apocalyptic movie

An abandoned shed in the middle of the forest, for those who do not mind taking a break with friends in the forest.

After some bashing through some fallen trees and scrubs...you will get to the top of the hill which oversees the new BTO Tengah Estate and on the right is the Bukit Batok Home for the Aged.

Following this well-beaten path up, you will find yourself immersed in the small bamboo forest.

From here on is the descend towards the main objective - the Torii gate or so it seems...

Do watch out for potholes covered by leaves while descending down the slope. After some mosquitoes and ant bites later...finally, we reached the highlight of the trail- The Torii gate structures that one can use their imagination of being in Japan!

While on the way out, watch your step as the planks on the Torii gate are not in very good condition.

Exiting the Torii gate and continuing with the descend, there will be a Panda to bid you farewell!

Following the descending path, you will once again pass by the well where you first started... From there on, you will see the artificial stone steps which will lead you down to the entrance by the roadside.
